UNION — Mrs. Effie Lee Taylor Brewington, 88, widow of Robert L. Brewington, formerly of 1313 Peach Orchard Road, Union, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home.

Mrs. Brewington was born in Woodruff, Nov. 27, 1924, a daughter of the late Clyde Backman Taylor Sr. and Eppie Bragg Taylor. She was retired from Conso Products and was a member of Fairforest Baptist Church. Mrs. Brewington was a member of the “Young at Heart” group of the church.

Surviving are a daughter, Robbie B. Gault and husband Derrell of Lockhart; a sister, Martha T. Casey of Woodruff ; a brother, Wayne Taylor of Greenwood; three grandchildren, Jeremy Gault and wife Amanda, Kerri Gault and Rachel Pope and husband Dan.

Mrs. Brewington was predeceased by a son, Kenny Brewington; four sisters, Mable Bagwell, Sybil Hendricks, Betty Dillard and Jolene Cooke; and three brothers, Clyde B. Taylor Jr., Frank Taylor and George Taylor.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012 at Fairforest Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Allen Gregory, Rev. Jim Cunningham and Rev. Brian Bishop. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the church prior to the services.

Active pallbearers will be Reggie Taylor, Barry Taylor, Eric Taylor, Tim Dillard, David Brewington and Scott Brewington. Members of the Ladies #3 Sunday School Class and members of the “Young at Heart” group of Fairforest Baptist Church are asked to sit in a group.

Memorials may be made to Camp Kemo, Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, Seven Richland Medical Park Drive, Suite 203, Columbia, S.C. 29203.

The family will be at the home of her daughter, Robbie and Derrell Gault, 152 Shady Drive, Union (Lockhart Community).
