UNION — Mrs. Helen Gunning Allison, 79, 307 Lakeview Heights, Union, widow of Jack H. Allison, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012 at Wallace Thomson Hospital.

Mrs. Allison was born in Union, S.C., Dec. 9, 1932, a daughter of the late Orville “Bo” Gunning and Victoria Allen Gunning. She was a graduate of Union High School and retired from Milliken & Co — Cedar Hill Plant. Mrs. Allison was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church where she was a member of the Golden Girls and a member of the Pearl Sanders Sunday School Class.

Surviving are a daughter, Vicki Allison of the home; two sons, Jack Allison and wife Donice and Joey Allison and wife Kathy, all of Union; a sister, Ann Jones of Columbia; six grandchildren, Destiny Pigmon and husband Eric of Rock Hill, Hunter Allison of Greenville, Brad Allison of Union, Brandon Allison and wife Elizabeth of Rock Hill, Alyssa Dehart and husband Matthew of Carlisle and Tyler Allison of Greenville; three great-grandchildren, Cole Pigmon, Bret Pigmon and Blakely Allison, all of Rock Hill.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 at Mon Aetna Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Greg Barefoot and Rev. Benny Green. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Allison’s grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. The following are asked to assemble at the church at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday to form the Honorary Escort: Members of Pearl Sanders Sunday School Class, Patsy Willard, Teresa Wilson, Jack and Doris Vaughn, Tom and Barbara Alexander and Thom Shick.

Visitation will be held 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Mon Aetna Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to Mon Aetna Baptist Church Building Fund, 1431 Lockhart Highway, Union, S.C. 29379.

The family is at the home of her son, Jack Allison, 121 Pine Forest Road, South Hills Complex, Union.
