UNION — Dorothy Mae Spears Rice, 76, 124 Hillside Drive, entered eternal rest Nov. 9, 2012 in Wallace Thomson Hospital.
A native of Union, she was the widow of Lewis Rice and the daughter of the late Lewis Spears and Olivia Wright Spears. She was a member and New Emanuel Chapel Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board and the Senior Choir. She was retired from Wallace Thomson Hospital.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia (Willie) Ruth and Mary Rice (Oscar), both of Union; one stepson, Stanley Broadus of Columbia; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and seven great great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012 at 2 p.m. at New Emanuel Chapel Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Patricia Ruth, 210 Davis St., Union.
