JONESVILLE — Andrew “Junior” Glenn, Sr., 78, 136 Dover Road, died March 18, 2013.
A native of Union, he was the husband of Annie Ruth Sims Glenn and son of the late Walter and Katie Kershaw Wicks, and the adoptive son of Rudolph and Irene Kershaw Glenn. He was first married to the late Gussie Eison Glenn. He was a member a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was retired from McMillan-Carter Construction Company.
Other survivors include four sons, Walter (Kathy) Glenn and Andrew (Queen) Glenn, Jr. both of Jonesville and Terry (Mary) Glenn and Willie (Bertha) Smith, both of Union; five daughters, Brenda Glenn (Tommy) Peake, Linda Smith, Shirley Thomas, all of Union, Carolyn (James) Gist of Santuc, and Rev. Vanessa Jeter Ray of Highpoint, N.C.; one brother, Ricky Glenn of Jonesville; three sisters, Carrie Gist of Union, Mae Frances (Frances) West of Washington, D.C., and Lillie (Roger Wood) Glenn of Jonesville; one aunt, Doshia Smith of Spartanburg; 25 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with burial in the Bethany AME Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home and at the home of his daughter, Brenda Glenn Peake, 108 Scarborough Drive, Union.
