UNION — A firm looking to hire security guards will hold a job recruitment event Friday at the SCWorks office on Main Street in Union.

Katherine Pendergrass, Business Services Consultant for SCWorks, announced that US Security Associates will be at the SCWorks works office from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to interview applicants for several security positions. She said the company is looking for applicants who meet the following criteria:

• A U.S. citizen

• Have a high school diploma or GED

• Be able to pass strict background checks

• Have a clean driving record — No DUIs

• Willing to take pre-employment and random drug tests

• Have a valid driver’s license

• No dishonorable discharge from military service

All interested applicants are invited to attend and bring their resume. Pendergrass said applicants should be prepared to spend 10-15 minutes being interviewed. She added that if there is a very large pool of applicants, the interviews will continue past 1 p.m.

“Come with a positive attitude, a warm smile, and a firm handshake,” Pendergrass said.

The event is open to the public.

Pendergrass added that more job recruitment events will be held at the SCWorks office in the future.
