The Union Public Safety Department reported the following arrests:

— John Russell Thomas, 26, of 209 Hill St., Union, was charged with criminal domestic violence around 3 a.m. on March 10. According to the arrest warrant, Thomas engaged in an altercation with a woman while at an address on Chambers Avenue, Union. The warrant states Thomas made threats to beat the woman up, causing her to fear for her life and safety.

— Loretta Marlene Owens, 40, of 1971 Jonesville Lockhart Highway, Union, was charged with shoplifting around 12:50 p.m. on March 9. According to the arrest warrant, Owens took several items from Dollar General, located at 410 N. Duncan Bypass, Union. Missing items were valued at $18.

— Savannah Lynn Rhinehart, 19, of 106 Moore St., Union, was charged with shoplifting around 3:30 p.m. on March 8. According to the arrest warrant, Rhinehart took items from Bell Exxon, located at 101 N. Duncan Bypass, Union, and concealed them in her pocket book, attempting to exit without paying.

— Christopher Allen Grier, 25, of 406 West Main St., Union, was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest around 12:20 a.m. on March 10.

— Thomas Worthy, 55, of 104 Chambers Avenue, Union, was charged with trespassing after notice around 10:35 p.m. on March 8.

— Luther Lyn West, 45, of 120 Dewey Circle, Union, was charged with driving under the influence around 3:35 a.m. on March 10.

— Cortez Devonta Harris, 20, of 1111 Lakeside Drive, Union, was charged with driving under suspension, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia around 7:20 p.m. on March 8. According to the incident report, an officer initiated a traffic stop after observing Harris driving and knowing his license was suspended. While inventorying Harris’s vehicle, officers found a gray plastic bag containing a green plant-like substance and a set of digital scales.

— Robert Lewis Briggs, 28, of 1018 South Pinckney St., Union, was charged with driving under suspension around 7:30 p.m. on March 10.

The Union Public Safety Department reported the following incidents:

— A resident of Timberlake Road, Union, reported on March 11 that while visiting friends on Lipsey Street in Union, her vehicle was vandalized. Photos were taken of scratches on the vehicle, and the case was turned over to investigations.

— A resident of Lakeview Heights, Union, reported on March 10 that someone had taken a green Razor E150 scooter and a Nintendo Wii game console from her home. Items missing were valued at $540.

— A resident of Rice Avenue Extension, Union, reported on March 10 that someone had vandalized his truck sometime before 1 p.m. on March 10. The truck had a scratch on the driver’s side and white paint on the passenger’s side, which appeared to be a car-to-car paint transfer. The case was turned over to investigations.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:

— Paul Kenneth Morris, 44, of 11960 Highway 56, Cross Anchor, was charged with criminal domestic violence around 2:35 p.m. on March 9. According to the incident report, officers responded to a disturbance and found Morris arguing with a woman. She said Morris held her down, poured water on her face and body, and stated he was going to kill her. Morris said he poured the water but did not hold her down. Morris was transported to Union County Jail.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents:

— A resident of Santuc-Carlisle Highway, Union, reported on March 9 that someone shot into his home with a firearm while his family was inside watching television. The victim stated that after hearing a gunshot, he noticed that a picture — hanging 24 inches above his head — was knocked off the wall. The incident was turned over to investigations.

— A resident of Tillman Street, Union, reported on March 10 that someone took a CD cartridge which contained six CDs from her vehicle. The cartridge was valued at $80 and the CDs were valued at $20 each. The case was turned over to investigations.

— A resident of Old Union Road, Lockhart, reported on March 10 that the lock had been cut off of the door to his residence. The complainant said nothing appeared missing, but items had been moved around. No one was staying at the residence due to renovations underway at the time.

— A resident of Alman Street, Jonesville, reported on March 10 that someone took six or seven pairs of shoes from her residence. There were no signs of forced entry into the home. The case was turned over to investigations.
