UNION COUNTY — Two overnight trips and a personnel report were among the items approved by the Union County Board of School Trustees Monday evening.
The board voted unanimously to approve a trip to Virginia in June by the Union County High School JROTC Leadership Team. The team will travel to George Mason University in Fairfax, Va., where it will compete with 39 other JROTC leadership teams from across the nation in the JROTC Leadership Symposium and Academic Bowl. The UCHS team consists of Team Captain Michael Leigh, Alana Wright, Nicole Fowler, Alex Childers, Les Wentz, and Dalen White. The competition will be held June 21-25.
The board also voted unanimously to approve an overnight trip by the sixth grade at Jonesville Elementary/Middle School to Discovery Place in May.
Personnel
The board also voted unanimously to approve the personnel report including the hiring of two cafeteria staff for the current school year and three teachers for the following school year.
