The Union Public Safety Department reported the following arrests:

— Belinda Ruth Worthy, 42, of 100 Lipsey Street, Union, was charged with petit larceny around 5 a.m. on February 10. According to the arrest warrant, Worthy stole a Motorola Razor cell phone belonging to someone else and sold it in exchange for money.

— Alexander Michael Adams, 18, of 270 Lite Street, Jonesville, was charged with malicious damage to property around 4:20 p.m. on February 10. According to the arrest warrant, Adams cut the left side rear tire of a Jeep while at Bojangles in Union on February 9.

— Harry Jerome Beam Jr., 37, of 912 Church Street, Union, was charged with driving under the influence and failure to stop for a blue light around 3:20 p.m. on February 9. According to the incident report, officers observed Beam driving recklessly on Lipsey Street heading toward Union Boulevard. Officers turned on blue lights, and Beam continued driving, making a right turn onto Union Boulevard, a right turn onto Stewart Street and a left turn onto West Henrietta Street. Beam then put the car in reverse, backed up, and turned right back onto Stewart Street, eventually turning back onto Union Boulevard. Back-up was called, and officers finally boxed Beam in just past the intersection of Highway 176 and Industrial Park Road. He given a sobriety test and transported to Union County Jail.

— Albert Henry Turner Jr., 67, of 755 North Duncan Bypass, Union, was charged with open container around 11:05 a.m. on Feb. 10. According to the incident report, Turner was carrying around a cup filled with beer inside Wal-Mart.

— Margaret Ann Newton, 54, of 233 Lower Fairforest Church Road, Union, was charged with driving under the influence around 8:10 p.m. on February 10. According to the incident report, Newton was in the drive-thru line at Hardee’s when employees became afraid to let her leave. When officers responded, they conducted sobriety tests and determined Newton to be under the influence.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:

— William Robin Little, 46, of 321 Elford Grove Road, Jonesville, was charged with third-degree assault and battery around 6 p.m. on February 8. According to the incident report, Little punched his neighbor in the face during an argument about the ownership of a lawn sprinkler.

— James Jaboris Mobley, 23, of 406 Mount Joy Church Road, Jonesville, was charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, resisting arrest, driving under the influence and driving with unsafe tires around 3:50 a.m. on February 9. According to the incident report, Mobley was pulled over, and while looking for his registration, he was asked to exit the vehicle because of a strong smell of marijuana and alcohol. Instead of exiting the vehicle, Mobley started the vehicle, put it in drive and attempted to drive away. He was stopped by officers, removed from the vehicle and transported to Union County Jail.

— Christopher Scott Austin, 25, of 250 Old English Road, Union, was charged with attempting to break into a motor vehicle on Carem Road, Union, on February 8. Cassie Nicole Fox, 28, of 146 Hamm Street, Union, and Brandi Julieann Northern, 35, of 104 Carem Road, Union, and were each charged with attempting to break into a motor vehicle — in relation to the same case — on February 10.

— Adika Sharifu Smith, 36, of 113 North 2nd Street, Union, was charged with driving under suspension around 1 p.m. on February 8. According to the incident report, Smith drove through a license check on Highway 18 near the Cherokee County line, and the license showed up suspended for failure to pay a traffic ticket. Smith was transported to Union County Jail.

— Daniel Lee Gowan, 33, of 1017 Meansville Road, Union, was charged with breach of peace around 1:50 p.m. on February 9. According to the incident report, Gowan was involved in a loud argument with someone in the parking lot of Philippi Fire Department. He was transported to Union County Jail.

— Brandi Julieann Northern, 35, of 104 Carem Road, Union, was charged with shoplifting around 1:10 p.m. on February 10. According to the incident report, Northern took face wipes, deodorant and conditioner from Dollar General, located at 1303 Lockhart Highway in Monarch. The total cost of items taken from the store was $12.50.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents:

— The owner of a residence on Cross Keys Highway, Enoree, reported on February 10 that someone broke into the residence between February 3 and February 10. The complainant stated that nothing appeared to be missing, and damage to a window was valued at around $80.

— A resident of Boyd Street, Union, reported on February 9 that someone kicked in a screen door at his home while he was at work. The victim said whoever kicked in the screen door was unable to get into the home because of another locked door. The damage to the screen door was valued at $130.

— A resident of Sardis Road, Union, reported on February 8 that someone broke into his utility building and took a new chainsaw and some tools. A lock was broken off of the building, and the door showed signs of minor damage to the surface as if the lock had been broken off. Items missing were valued at a total of around $350, and the case was turned over to investigations.
