The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents:
— A Jonesville resident reported on January 30 that while she was in the Dollar General store in Jonesville, someone left an inappropriate note which included a phone number on the door of her vehicle. An officer contacted the person who wrote the note, and he admitted that he wrote it but said he had mistaken the woman for someone else.
— Carter’s Muffler and Auto Service reported on January 30 that a vehicle belonging to a customer had been stolen from the business between the time the business closed at 5 p.m. on January 29 and 8 a.m. on January 30. The owner valued the vehicle at $2,500. The case was turned over to investigations.
— A resident of Riverview Road in Jonesville reported on January 30 that a handgun was stolen from his vehicle between the hours of 4 p.m. on January 20 and 3 p.m. on January 30. The serial number of the missing gun was entered into NCIC as stolen, and the victim was advised if any further information was received to notify the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
— A resident of North Church Street, Union, reported on January 30 that someone vandalized his vehicle while it was parked on Beltline Road in Union. According to the incident report, the vehicle was spray painted around its middle, on the tailgate and on the driver’s side door. Both brake lights were also broken. Damage was estimated at $500.
— A resident of Lovers Hill Road, Union, reported on January 30 that a box of electrical wire was stolen from his home while he was at work on January 30. The victim said the metal wiring weighed 35 pounds.
The Union Public Safety Department reported the following incident:
— A resident of Lakeview Heights, Union, reported on January 30 that his vehicle was vandalized while parked at Union County High School. The victim said that someone had put 66 O’Reilly Auto Parts magnets all over his truck, and when he removed the magnets, he noticed two small scratches on the front right fender that he did not notice before. The victim said there were also three stickers on the tailgate, but he removed them and there was no damage to that part of the truck.
