Two plead guilty in August shooting incident

UNION — Two of four men charged in an August shooting incident that resulted in a chase across two counties pleaded guilty to two charges stemming from that incident in General Sessions Court this week.

Tevin Deonta Fair, 19, 737 Meadowbrook Road, Chester; Kiama Hason Sanders, 19, 789 Charitty Road, Chester; Cedric Jamaris Brown, 22, 5681 Woodsferry Road, Chester; and Najahwan Abdul Woodard, 18, 573 E. 2nd St., Chester, were arrested in Chester County on Aug. 4 in connection with a shooting in the parking lot of a Union nightclub earlier that morning.

The four were accused of opening fire on a Union man in the club’s parking lot and then firing on him again as he followed them on the Jonesville-Lockhart Highway. They were stopped inside Chester County and taken into custody by deputies with the Union County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the Chester County Sheriff’s Office.

Fair, Sanders, Brown, and Woodard were all charged with attempted murder, discharging a firearm at a vehicle, unlawful carrying of a handgun, simple possession of marijuana, and open container. Fair, Sanders, and Woodard were also charged with minor in possession of beer.

Since being arrested Fair, Sanders, and Woodard remained in jail after being denied bond by a Circuit Court judge in September. Brown was granted bond but forbidden to return to Union County except for court and to work. He was also placed under a 6 p.m. curfew and forbidden to have any contact with the victim or the victim’s family.

Fair and Woodard were back in court this week where they pleaded guilty to assault and battery first-degree instead of attempted murder and to discharging a firearm at a vehicle. They were both sentenced by Judge Lee S. Alford of York to t not more than six years in the Youth Offenders Authority with credit for time served on each count. The sentences for each charge will run concurrently.

The following persons also pleaded guilty before Alford of York in General Sessions Court this week.

Robert Castle, 1437 Peach Orchard Road, Lot 6, Union, to resisting arrest, 90 days or $200 plus court costs with 90 days to pay the fine.

Terry Glenn, 123 Dupree Farm Road, Buffalo, to reckless driving, 30 days to be served on weekends beginning January 18; to driving under suspension DUI-related first offense, 30 days to be served on weekends beginning January 18, sentences to run concurrently.

Kintez Harris, 142 Hilltop Road, Enoree, to possession of a controlled substance, six months suspended upon one year probation with credit for time served.

Rusty Jeter, 143 E. Lee St., Union, to habitual traffic offender, one year suspended upon 90 days to be served on weekends beginning January 18 and one year probation.

Christopher Lemaster, 620 S. Main St., Jonesville, to escape, one year with credit for time served, sentence to run consecutive to sentence already being served.

Everette Means, 309 Flat Drive, Buffalo, to distribution of crack cocaine first offense, one year with credit for time served; to misdemeanor resisting arrest, one year with credit for time served, sentences to run concurrently.

Charles Owens II, 683 Rice Avenue Extension, Apt. 8F, Union, to assault and battery first-degree, three years suspended upon one year and three years probation with credit for time served.

Telisa Patterson, 139 Fawn Trail, Gaffney, to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, three years suspended upon one year with credit for time served and five years probation.

Marcus Salter, 914 N. Church St., Union, to driving under suspension third offense, 90 days suspended upon 60 days to be served on weekends beginning January 18 and one year probation; to failure to stop for a blue light second offense, one year suspended upon 60 days to be served on weeekends beginning January 18 with credit for time served and one year probation, sentences to run concurrently.

Joseph Smith Jr., 149 Peacewood Drive, Union, to possession of crack cocaine second offense, nine months with credit for time served.

Willie Walton III, 104 Hicks St., Union, to possession with intent to distribute marijuana first offense, two years with credit for time served; to possession of crack cocaine second offense, two years with credit for time served, sentences to run concurrently.

Travis Anderson, 655 Phillipi Church Road, Union, to possession of marijuana first offense, time served; to possession of a controlled substance first offense, 90 days or $100 plus court costs.

Bradley Fowler, 251 S. Pinckney St., Union, to driving under the influence second offense, one year and $2,100 suspended upon 90 days with credit for time served, $1,100, and two years probation; to driving under suspension third offense, 90 days to be served on weekends beginning January 18; to falilure to stop for a blue light second or more offense, three years suspended upon 90 days to be served on weekends beginning January 18 with credit for time served and two years probation, sentences to run concurrently.

William Garrett, 205 Gault Avenue, Union, to assault and battery first-degree, Youth Offenders Authority not to exceed five years.

George Gilliam, 755 N. Duncan Bypass, Union, to driving under suspension third offense, 90 days with credit for time served; to habitual traffic offender, eight months with credit for time served, sentences to run concurrently.

Tremaine Salter, 205 Lipsey St., Union, to assault and battery first-degree, Youth Offenders Authority not to exceed five years.

Jabar Ali, 127 Horseshoe Circle, Union, to possession of contraband, one year suspended upon time served.

Jason Brannon, 297 Center Road, Union, to possession of a firearm/ammunition by a person convicted of a violent crime, three years suspended upon 30 months probation with credit for time served.

Jatania Cabaniss, 112 Canal St., Lockhart, to distribution of marijuana first offense, three years suspended upon two years probation with credit for time served.

Johnathon Davis, 214 Pine St., Buffalo, to distribution of a Schedule III narcotic, Youth Offenders Authority not to exceed three years suspended upon 18 months probation with credit for time served.

Dillon Dehart, 165 Morningside Drive, Pauline, to burglary second-degree (non-violent), Youth Offenders Authority not to exceed five years suspended upon time served and five years probation; to grand larceny over $2,000, Youth Offenders Authority not to exceed five years suspended upon time served and five years probation; to burglary third-degree (first offense) Youth Offenders Authority not to exceed five years suspended upon time served and five years probation, sentences to run concurrently.

Phillip Hancock, 810 Canal St., Lockhart, to distribution of a Schedule III narcotic second offense, three years suspended upon 90 days with credit for time served.

Shawn Mcphail Jr., Kissy Creek Circle, Union, to burglary second-degree (non-violent), Youth Offenders Authority not to exceed five years suspended upon time served and five years probation; to grand larceny over $2,000, Youth Offenders Authority not to exceed five years suspended upon time served and five years probation; to burglary third-degree (first offense) Youth Offenders Authority not to exceed five years suspended upon time served and five years probation, sentences to run concurrently.

Freddie Moore, 224 Haywood St., Buffalo, to shoplifting, one year suspended upon 30 days with credit for time served to be served on weekends beginning January 18 and one year probation.

Misty Palmer, 159 Nabors Road, Buffalo, to distribution of a Schedule III narcotic, three years suspended upon 18 months probation with credit for time served.

Mitchell Roof II, 1196 Radcliff Road, Chester, to petit larceny $2,000 or less, 30 days suspended upon 18 months probation with credit for time served; to forgery less than $10,000, three years suspended upon 18 months probation with credit for time served, sentences to run concurrently.

Geromey Jeter, 210 Goings Lane, Union, to two counts of distribution of crack cocaine first offense, five years suspended upon 30 months and 18 months probation with credit for time served on each count; to distribution of marijuana first offense, five years suspended upon 30 months and 18 months probation with credit for time served, sentences to run concurrently.

Douglas Bishop, 224 Wardlaw St., Union, to assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, 10 years with credit for time served, sentence to run concurrently with sentence already being served.

Christopher Chamberlain, 105 Hodges Lane, Union, to indecent exposure, time served.

William Craig, 104 New St., Union, to possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine second offense, possession of marijuana first offense, and two counts of distribution of crack cocaine second offense, sentencing deferred on all counts until Feb. 4.

Jose Felix Jr., 108 Mountain Brook Lane, Spartanburg, to failure to stop for a blue light, three years suspended upon nine months and three years probation with credit for time served; to driving under suspension first offense, time served; to shoplifting less than $2,000, time served, sentences to run concurrently.

Theodore Hall, 139 Rook Road, Union, to distribution of marijuana first offense, three years suspended upon one year probation with credit for time served.

Kevin Hartle, 129 Lane Road, Union, tried by jury on the charges of criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature and pointing or presenting a firearm and found not guilty on both counts.

Treshaun Kelly, 117 Harris St., Union, to strongarm robbery, Youth Offenders Authority not to exceed five years with credit for time served.

Jeremy Moody, 213 South 1st St., Lockhart, to distribution of a Schedule III narcotic, three years suspended upon 18 months probation with credit for time served.

William Smith Jr., 120 S. Boyce St., Apt. 6H, Union, to distribution of marijuana first offense, three years suspended upon one year probation with credit for time served.

Jeremy Strachan, 101 Vermont St., Spartanburg, to possession of crack cocaine first offense, three years suspended upon one year probation with credit for time served; to possession with intent to distribute marijuana first offense, three years suspended upon one year probation with credit for time served, sentences to run concurrently.
