Girls
Union County senior point guard Kristin Giles netted 33 points on Tuesday night to guide the Jackets to a 71-67 win over Broome.
Giles has been a source of consistency for the Lady Jackets and is expected to have a break-out season.
She currently averages 17 points, eight assists and eight steals per game.
Boys
Union County point guard Larecus Hughes led the Jackets offense in its last two games with 13 points against Chapman and 21 points against Broome.
“He’s really stepped up his game but most of all he’s stepped up his leadership,” said Union County Head Coach Will Hickson. “He was the only senior out there while the football team was making its state championship run and I’m proud of how he’s handled things. He works hard, gives everything he’s got. Recus is one of those guys that hardly ever comes off the floor, he does it all. I expect good things to come for him.”
