JONESVILLE — Asilee Peake Rice, 83, 988 John Hart Road, entered eternal rest Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. A native of Union, she was the widow of William “Bunt” Rice, Sr. and the daughter of the late Bailey Peake and Carrie Smith Peake.
She was a member of Wyatt Chapel Baptist Church and was retired from Buffalo Mill. She was a member of Lady Esther O.E.S. Chapter #353.
Survivors include two sons, William (Vicky) Rice of Columbia and the Rev. Dr. Calvin (Willie Mae) Rice of Staten Island, NY; six daughters, Mariah Briggs Shepard of Staten Island, NY, Minnie Rice (William) Harper of Clinton, MD, Shirley A. (James) Harris of Union, Connie (Darrell) Bates of Pacolet, and Teresa Rice and Deitrich Rice, both of the home; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Wyatt Chapel Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Public viewing will be Thursday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Eastern Star Rites will be conducted Thursday from 6 p.m. at 7 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at the home.
