Trade You For It

Mrs. Prince's fourth grade class at Foster Park Elementary is studying international trade which started in history with the Columbian Exchange. Students exchanged marbles, which stood for different goods needed by Europeans and settlers of the New World. Unknown to them, they were also trading diseases (red marbles) which, unfortunately had a devastating cost. They learned that there were positives and negatives to the trade with Europe, especially for the Native American population.
