Last year, The Union Daily Times began a column from the hardwood, taking a glimpse into the lives of two brothers whose names have become synonymous with basketball and not just in Union County.

As football winds down, we look forward to picking up where we left off, delivering weekly installments of Keeping Up with the Bookers, providing game stats and highlights of Washington Wizards power forward Trevor Booker and his brother, Devin, who is a starting forward at Clemson University.

The only NBA player ever to emerge from Union County, Trevor is also a product of Clemson University and one of the school’s all-time greats. He has made tremendous strides over the past two seasons and stepped into a starting role at Washington last year.

Trevor’s younger brother is looking to define his own legacy and made a solid case during his junior year, averaging 10.5 points and seven rebounds per game.

Devin is expected to draft in 2013 upon wrapping up his senior year with the Tigers where he will be called upon by Coach Brad Brownell to shoulder most of the load as one of the only two upperclassmen on the roster.

Keep up with the Bookers in 2012-13 exclusively in The Union Daily Times.
