Kyle Young to address Clemson Club

UNION — A Clemson University associate athletic director will address the Union County Clemson Club’s annual chicken roast.

The club will hold its ninth annual chicken roast on Nov. 19 in the gym at Union Christian Day School. The meal will be provided by Parklane Seafood of Columbia.

Tickets can be purchased from board members and President Virgil Childers. Cost is $15 for adults and $8 for children ages 5 to 11 years old. Children under 5 eat for free.

The speaker for the evening will be Kyle Young, an associate athletic director in the Clemson Athletic Department. He is a Clemson native and two-time All-American in 2000-2001. In 2001, he became the first Clemson student-athlete in 23 years to win the NCAA Football Foundation Scholar Athlete Award. He graduated summa cum laude in May 2001.

Young worked at Virginia Tech in 2002-2003 and returned to Clemson in the 2003-2004 academic year. He is married to the former Jamie Watson and they have three children.

Doors will open at 5 p.m. and dinner will begin at 6 p.m.

Members are urged to get their tickets no later than Nov. 15.
