UNION — During the week of Nov. 5-9, the Union County Arts Council will be accepting entries for the 2012 edition of the annual Local Artists’ Showcase.

Any artist or crafter who would like to have their work shown and made available for sale should bring their pieces by the UCAC gallery on Main Street in Union during this time.

“Our Local Artists’ Showcase is one of our biggest events of the year,” said UCAC president Bennie Giles. “Last year we had over thirty artists and crafters showing their work with us. Some of them made some very good sales.”

The showcase is one of the highlights of Union’s Downtown Open House just before Thanksgiving. UCAC will be open for shoppers to come by and browse the items on display and, possibly, find that “special, one-of-a-kind” Christmas gift for the person who seems to have everything.

“Every year we have pieces for sale that run from under a dollar up to hundreds of dollars,” added Giles. “There is something for everybody here during this show.”
