A Union man being taken in custody on a federal probation violation was found to have drugs in his possession.
Douglas Hall, 46, of 1034 Neal Shoals Road, was charged Friday by the Union Public Safety Department with possession of crack.
A report said Investigator Mickey Parker advised Cpl. Tommy Hart that a federal warrant had been issued for Hall's arrest. Hart spotted Hall on the porch of 105 Gage Ave. and took him into custody. While Hall was being searched because he had been arrested, Hart found a rock of what is believed to be crack cocaine in his right front pants watch pocket.
Burglary
On 1208 West Main St., a burglary at an apartment was reported Monday. The victim told Officer Randy Canupp that he came home and found the deadbolt locked. He thought this was odd because he does not have a key to the deadbolt. He spoke to the landlord, who said he had not entered the apartment.
The victim went to the back of the apartment and saw that someone had broken a glass to gain entry. Missing are a piggy bank with about $10 in it, a Phillips DVD/CD/VCR combination and about 20 DVDs and 10 CDs, all worth a total of $810.
An investigation is continuing.
