The Lady Jackets tennis team fell to Dorman 3-4 Tuesday evening.
The team was without senior Lauren Harrison, who had to withdraw from her match with Meredith Graham due to illness.
Abby Allen won her match 6-2, 6-1 against Joy Anna Pellegrino. Logan Wade won 7-5, 6-4 over Carson Pellegrino. Kristen Martin won 6-1, 6-0 over Michelle Phan. Dexlie Inman went to a third set with Alexis Thompson but lost 6-3, 5-7, 4-10. Adelaide Adamo and Abby Kingsmore lost to Sana Dossaji and Maggie Wiles at number two doubles 2-6, 4-6.
The match came down to Allen and Wade playing Dorman’s Graham and J. Pellegrino for the win, but the girls fell short.
Coach Kelly Jenkins said she was proud of the effort that Wade gave stepping in to replace Harrison.
“Allen, Martin and Wade are really beginning to step up their games as we move into region play,” said Jenkins, “There are some positions where we must improve in order to reach our goal of region champions. The non-region schedule has been tough and our 2-5 record is not what I expected for our team, but it should prepare us for region play and hopefully a run in the playoffs.”
