A Jonesville man and a Spartanburg man ended up in jail Friday after allegedly being found with marijuana, crack cocaine and cocaine in their possession.
Demar Raymez Garnett, 23, 245 Eisontown Road, Jonesville, is charged by the Union County Sheriff’s Office with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, trafficking crack cocaine and trafficking cocaine.
Jeremy Obrian Rodgers, 22, 218 Anita Drive, Spartanburg, is charged by the sheriff’s office with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
The incident report states deputies went to Garnett’s residence Friday afternoon to serve a search warrant. As they were pulling the driveway, the report states the deputies saw Garnett and Rodgers sitting in a white SUV parked in the yard. One the deputies saw a plastic bag in Garnett’s right hand as he got out and went to the back of the SUV. The deputies got out of their patrol car and ran to where Garnett and Rodgers were.
While putting Garnett and Rodgers in handcuffs, the report states the deputies noticed an ounce of marijuana on the ground behind the SUV. The deputy searching Garnett found a plastic bag that smell of marijuana and contained several very small particles of the plant. The report states deputies believed the bag had contained the marijuana they found on the ground behind the SUV.
Deputies also found $456 in cash, digital scales and a Flintstone Gummies bottle in Garnett’s right thigh area pocket which the report states contained 19.3 grams of cocaine and 14 grams of crack cocaine.
The report states the marijuana, cocaine and crack cocaine had a combined street value of approximately $1,400.
Deputies seized $920 in cash and a cell phone from Rodgers.
