Spartanburg downs Lady Yellow Jackets

SPARTANBURG — Union County’s varsity girls’ basketball team fell, 67-32, to Spartanburg on Monday in the Lady Viking Invitational.

Spartanburg jumped out to a 14-2 lead after one quarter and never looked back.

The Vikings (7-1) play A.C. Flora for the tournament championship at 6:30 tonight. UCHS takes on Easley in the consolation game at 5 p.m.

Chelsea Faulhaber led Spartanburg with 22 points. Jasmine Hearst scored 12 points and Iesah Sarratt added 10.

Janeka Brannon led UCHS with 11 points.

A.C. Flora defeated Easley 42-22 in the other tournament game. Kim Roach had 16 points for the Falcons and Janesha Hallums had 11 for Easley.
