UNION — A combination of increased funding from the state and cost savings recommended by consultants with other health care organizations could help Wallace Thomson Hospital dramatically improve its financial condition. The Union Hospital District is composed of Wallace Thomson Hospital, Ellen Sagar Nursing Home, Union County EMS, and Carolinas Health Associates. In recent years the district as a whole and its constituent divisions have struggled financially, often losing money both on a monthly and yearly basis.
