Organizers hope to make ‘Thunder Road’ an annual event

UNION — Union’s Main Street was reserved for motorcycle parking only Sunday for the first-ever Thunder Road Bike Show and Ride.The event was a partnership effort between Union County Chamber of Commerce, the Union County Tourism Commission, Union County Recreation Department, and the Southern Legends Motorcycle Club. The event was held as a fundraiser to benefit the local Wounded Warrior Project and The Miracle League of Union County.Motorcycles and food vendors lined Main Street throughout the day, and motorcyclists voted on awards in various bike categories. The Best of Show Award was won by Audie Epps, and winners in other categories included Chris Reeves, Doug Shaw, James Wilson, Scott Birch, Craig McMillan, and Edward McKie.

 

Museum attracts 130 visitors in July
