JONESVILLE — Mr. Bobby Gene “Q-Ball” Franklin, 63, 185 Rogers Town Road, Jonesville, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Franklin was born in Union, Oct. 5, 1949 a son of the late Jim and Lois Sanders Franklin. He was a retired truck driver in the logging industry and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Vietnam War. Mr. Franklin was a member of Gilead Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Jami Lingerfelt and husband Tim, and a son, Shane Franklin all of Piedmont; five sisters, Willie Rogers of Union, Jessie Cobb of Easley, Elizabeth Ivester of Jonesville, Donna Boulware of Buffalo and Jimmie Vaughn of Gaffney; one brother, Joe Franklin of Jonesville; four grandchildren, Skilyer, McKenzie, T.J. and Destiny; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Ellie Mae.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2013 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Randy Burgess. Burial will be at Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors.
Active pallbearers will be Mr. Franklin’s nephews.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
The family will be at the home of his niece, Lisa and Mike Bell, 1028 S. Jonesville Highway, Jonesville.
