The Union Public Safety Department reported the following arrests:
—Terry Lorenzo Smith, 37, of 304 Rice Avenue, Union, was charged with second-degree harassment around 9:50 a.m. on March 25. According to the arrest warrant, Smith repeatedly texted and called a woman — while she was at the Union Public Safety Department — after being advised not to call her.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrest:
— Michael Dewayne Porter, 47, of 409 East 29th St., Patterson, N.J., was charged with being a fugitive from justice around 2:13 a.m. on March 26. According to the incident report, officers were contacted by law enforcement officers from Passaic County, N.J. and advised that Porter was wanted for multiple criminal and probation charges in their jurisdiction. Officers located Porter at his family residence in Union and took him into custody without incident.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents:
— A resident of Santuc Carlisle Highway, Union, reported on March 25 that someone pried open his back door and took items from his home between 7:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Items missing included a gold ring valued at $100, $35 in U.S. currency, a bottle of prescription medication, and a gold diamond tennis bracelet valued at $600. The case was turned over to investigations for further.
— A resident of Buffalo Ranch Creek, Union, reported on March 21 that his dog was attacked by another dog. The complainant was able to tie the dog up after it had killed his dog and then called 911. An officer called Animal Control to pick up the dog, and the owner could not be located at the time of the report.
