Guilty pleas heard in General Sessions Court

UNION — The following persons pleaded guilty before Judge Eugene Griffith of Newberry during General Sessions Court at the Union County Courthouse this past week.

Chelsea Carroll, 1437 Peach Orchard Road, Lot 6, Union, to providing contraband to inmates, one year suspended upon 90 days and one year probation.

Tierra Davis, 208 Arthur Boulevard, Union, to six counts of burglary second-degree (non-violent), 7 1/2 years on each count; three counts of petit larceny $2,000 or less, 30 days on each count; to two counts of grand larceny over $2,000, five years on each count; and one count of burglary second-degree (violent), 15 years suspended upon 7 1/2 years. Sentences will run concurrently with credit for time served on each count.

Devonte Lytle, 100 College St., Union, to four counts of burglary second-degree (non-violent), Youth Offenders Authority not to exceed six years; to three counts of petit larceny $2,000 or less, 30 days; and to one count of petit larceny, 30 days. Sentences to run concurrently with credit for time served on each count.

Jerome Mitchell, 114C St., Jonesville, to forgery, 12 months with credit for time served.

Aaron Depratter, 144 Haney Road, Union, to unlawful entry into enclosed places, petit larceny less than $2,000, and malicious damage under $2,000, 30 days suspended upon credit for time served and 24 months probation on each count with sentences to run concurrently and $100 restitution.

Daniel Gallman, 110 Park Drive, Union, to possession with intent to distribute marijuana second offense, Youth Offenders Authority not to exceed five years suspended upon time served and 30 months probation; to resisting arrest, Youth Offenders Authority not to exceed one year suspended upon time served and 30 months probation; and to possession of marijuana second offense, Youth Offenders Authority not to exceed one year suspended upon time served and 30 months probation; sentences to run concurrently.

George Gardin Jr., 2433 Buffalo-West Springs Highway, Buffalo, to reckless driving, 30 days; to failure to stop for a blue light first offense, one year; and to possession of a controlled substance first offense, six months. Sentences will run concurrently with credit for time served on each count.

Robert Gregory, 4186 Jonesville-Lockhart Highway, Union, to burglary second-degree and petit larceny, 18 months home incarceration and electronic monitoring on each count with sentences to run concurrently.

Wakina Kirby, 208 Mill St., Union, to petit larceny, four years with credit for time served.

Roger Mcabee, 1328 Peach Orchard Road, Union, to possession of marijuana first offense, $150 fine plus court costs.

Eugene Moore, 1201 Old Buncombe Road, Union, to attempting to manufacture methamphetamine, 24 months suspended upon 90 days and 30 months probation.

James Napper, 335 Gurensey Lane, Spartanburg, to habitual traffic offender, three years suspended upon 60 days and 36 months probation; and to driving under suspension third offense or more, 60 days. Sentences to run concurrently and be served on the weekends.

Preston Neal, 926 Central Avenue, Whitmire, to driving under suspension third offense or more, 50 days with credit for time served.

William Ochiltree, 146 Hamm St., Union, to shoplifting enhanced third offense or more and burglary second-degree (non-violent), two years on each count with credit for time served, sentences to run concurrently.

John Thomas, 209 Hill St., Union, to two counts of possession of marijuana second offense, 12 months with credit for time served on each count; and one count of distribution of crack cocaine first offense, 48 months suspended upon 18 months with credit for time served and 30 months probation; sentences to run concurrently.

Andrew Adams, 680 Brown’s Creek Road, Union, to possession of crack cocaine second offense and to failure to stop for a blue light first offense, two years suspended upon nine days and 36 months probation with credit for time served, sentences to run concurrently.

Kevin Boyter, 297 Sweet Water Drive, Buffalo, to assault and battery first-degree, seven years suspended upon pending probation; to grand larceny over $2,000, three years suspended upon pending probation; sentences to run concurrently.

Thomas Campbell Jr., 710 White Stone Road, Spartanburg, to arson third-degree, five years; to two counts of burglary second-degree, 10 years suspended upon five years and 36 months probation with credit for time served on each count; and to two counts of petit larceny, credit for time served on each count; sentences to run concurrently.

Jamie Darity, 897 Hawkins Road, Union, to possession of methamphetamine first offense and to possession of a Schedule IV narcotic, 30 months suspended upon 54 days with credit for time served and 30 months probation on each count with sentences to run concurrently.

Travis Duncan, 126 Canal Road, Lockhart, to unlawful carrying of a firearm, Youth Offenders Authority not to exceed one year suspended upon three days and 12 months probation.

Thomas Elston, 231 Hancock St., Union, to distribution of a Schedule III narcotic and distribution of a Schedule II narcotic, two years with credit for time served on each count, sentences to run concurrently.

Voyd Fincher Jr., 120 Lovelace Circle, Union, to distribution of crack cocaine first offense and to distribution of marijuana first offense, 30 months with credit for time served on each count, sentences to run concurrently.

Tyrone Fleming, 400 South Mountain St., Union, to assault and battery second-degree, 91 days with credit for time served.

Brandy Gory, 512 Drugstore St., Buffalo, to filing a false police report of a misdemeanor, one day and a $100 fine.

Angela Gregory, 2028 Jonesville Highway, Union, to petit larceny, 60 days to be served on the weekends with credit for time served.

Charles Hardy, 118 Hart St., Jonesville, to two counts of distribution of marijuana first offense, 24 months suspended upon 10 months with credit for time served and 18 months probation on each count with sentences to run concurrently.

Mark Hubbard, 106 Teal Road, Union, to filing a false police report of a felony, three years suspended upon 24 months probation.

Joshua Hughes, 105 Willow Lane, Union, to sale or delivery of a pistol to a person convicted of a violent crime, two years suspended upon time served and 18 months probation with credit for time served.

Kayson Jeter, 137 Brooklyn Avenue, Carlisle, to possession of crack cocaine first offense, two years suspended upon 43 days to be served on weekends and 24 months probation.

Tracie Kirby, 308 Fairview St., Jonesville, to possession of a Schedule II narcotic first offense, 90 days.

Joshua Moore, 250a Haywood St., Buffalo, to distribution of a controlled substance first offense, four years suspended upon 12 months and 18 months probation.

Harold O’Dell, 4357 Lockhart Highway, Union, to two counts of possession with intent to distribute marijuana first offense and to distribution of a Schedule II narcotic, three years suspended upon nine months with credit for time served and 30 months probation on each county with sentences to run concurrently.

Christopher Rhinehart, 300 Shadow Drive, Union, to possession with intent to distribute marijuana second offense, 30 months with credit for time served.

Anna Sanders, 710 White Stone Road, Spartanburg, to arson third-degree, 10 years suspended upon five years and 30 months probation with credit for time served; to two counts of burglary second-degree, 10 years suspended upon five years and 30 months probation with credit for time served; to two counts of petit larceny $2,000 or less, 30 days with credit for time served; sentences to run concurrently.

Matthew Scarito, 1078 Meansville Road, Union, to forgery, eight days with credit for time served; and to petit larceny $2,000 or less, six months with credit for time served; sentences to run concurrently.

Octavious Smith, 220 Blueridge Road, Union, to possession of cocaine first offense and to possession of a handgun with an altered serial number, Youth Offenders Authority not to exceed three years suspended upon 24 months probation with credit for time served on each count and sentences to run concurrently.

James Tucker, 117 Brooklyn Avenue, Carlisle, to assault and battery second-degree, two years suspended upon two years probation with credit for time served.

Dustin Ward, 301 Stutts Avenue, Union, to two counts of shoplifting less than $2,000 third offense or more, eight months with credit for time served and sentences to run concurrently.

Ronald Bishop, 123a Chambers Avenue, Union, to two counts of breaking into a motor vehicle, Youth Offenders Authority not to exceed three years suspended upon time served and 30 months probation on each count; to two counts of petit larceny, 30 days with credit for time served on each count; sentences to run concurrently.

Silmario Coleman, South Church Street Apartments #5-b, Union, to malicious damage to property under $2,000, 30 days suspended upon 24 months probation; and to possession of prescription medication, six months suspended upon 24 months probation; sentences to run concurrently.

Charles Crosby, 111 Lybrand St., Union, to assault and battery second-degree, 18 days with credit for time served.

Markeem Dawkins, 141 Oak Grove Road, Lot 18, Union, to distribution of a Schedule II controlled substance, to distribution of marijuana first offense, and to sale of a stolen pistol, Youth Offenders Authority not to exceed three years suspended upon 24 months probation with sentences to run concurrently.

Virginia Diamond, 329 Barnado Road, Union, to distribution of marijuana first offense, 45 days with credit for time served. Sentence to be served on weekends.

Anita Groves, 4730 Jonesville-Lockhart Highway, Union, to possession of a Schedule III narcotic first offense, six months suspended upon six months probation.

Charles Mclain, 302 Toluca St., Union, to forgery, three years suspended upon time served and 36 months probation.

Lee Scales, 1078 Meansville Road, Union, to forgery, eight days with credit for time served.

Avery Sims, 479 Old Union Road, Union, to trespassing and to petit larceny $2,000 or less, nine days with credit for time served on each count and sentences to run concurrently.

Dreshun Smith, 405b Porter St., Union, to two counts of breaking into a motor vehicle, Youth Offenders Authority not to exceed three years suspended upon time served and 30 months probation on each count; and to two counts of petit larceny, 30 days with credit for time served on each count; sentences to run concurrently.

Terry Walker, 716 Bailey Road, Union, to two counts of breaking into a motor vehicle, Youth Offenders Authority not to exceed three years suspended upon time served and 30 months probation on each count; to two counts of petit larceny, 30 days with credit for time served on each count; sentences to run concurrently.

Union County is sponsoring the Meansville Riley Water Company's application for a $350,000 grant through the South Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority. The grant would enable the company to install approximately 31,000 linear feet of new water main on eight different roadways and improve water quality. If requested to do so, should the county sponsor more such grant applications by other local water companies?
