CLEMSON — Clemson has won the last six meetings against Georgia Tech and will look to keep the streak alive tonight in a Valentine’s Day match-up.

A win for the Tigers could also be a much needed confidence booster after last week’s 78-41 routing at Virginia and Sunday’s heartbreak loss to NC State. Clemson fell victim to a last second three-pointer for the second time this season, as Scott Wood launched from the right corner to lift NC State to a 58-57 victory.

The good news for the Tigers is that Valentine’s Day is tied as the second winningest date on the calendar in Clemson basketball history.

The bad news is that Tech has improved since beginning the ACC slate with five straight losses. The Yellow Jackets have outscored their last five opponents by more than six points a game and have held them to 39.5 percent shooting from the floor. Georgia Tech has won three of its last five games, including a 64-54 win Saturday at Virginia Tech, which snapped a four-game losing streak in the series.

Clemson’s K.J. McDaniels has scored double figures in five of the last six games, including 15 in the last meeting with Georgia Tech. He hit two free throws with 16 seconds left in the 63-60 win over the Yellow Jackets to give Clemson its only win this season in a game decided by five points or less.

Freshman Jordan Roper is coming off a season-high 17 points against NC State and will likely be a big part of Clemson’s offensive attack tonight. Senior Devin Booker is looking to move into the top 15 in Clemson rebounding history and is just two boards shy. He has collected six or more boards in 10 of Clemson’s 11 ACC games.

Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. at McCamish Pavilion and will be regionally televised.
