UNION — USC Union will host an event this Saturday to provide an enjoyable way for teams to help raise money for the university’s Upcountry Literary Festival.
The third-annual Upcountry Literary Festival will be held March 22-23 on the USC Union campus and will include local, regional and national authors and musicians who will engage in readings, presentations, discussions and book signings as a means of increasing local interest in literacy, writing, music and culture.
As a means of raising funds for the ever-expanding annual event, those involved will host a double-elimination cornhole tournament this Saturday at the Truluck Activity Center.
The university will provide boards and bags, and prizes will be determined by the number of teams entered. The cost of pre-registration is $40, which must be paid by Thursday; and registration will be $50 on Friday and Saturday. The first three teams to send in their registration forms will receive a free “No Limits” Gamecocks t-shirt.
The schedule for Saturday will include registration beginning at 10 a.m. and a blind draw at 10:30 a.m. Bags will fly at 11 a.m.
Registration forms may be picked up at the USC Union Library or requested online by emailing uscunion29379@gmail.com. All proceeds will benefit the Upcountry Literary Festival.
