The meeting will be between 5-7 p.m. at the Lockhart First Baptist Church Family Life Center, 126 Armory Road, Lockhart. This meeting will be conducted in an “open house” format. Interested persons may attend this informal presentation at any time between 5-7 p.m., in which SCDOT representatives will be available to answer questions.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide an opportunity to review and discuss individually with representatives of SCDOT preliminary plans for the proposed bridge replacements over the Broad River, Lockhart Canal, Canal Road and Lockhart Drive.
Another purpose will be to gather information from the public on historic or cultural resources in the area. The proposed improvements consist of replacing the existing structurally deficient and functionally obsolete bridges with new bridges that meet current design standards.
There will be complimentary roadway improvements to accommodate the wider bridge typical section. Additional right of way will be required.
For more information, the public may contact SCDOT Program Manager Brian Klauk at (803) 737-5051 in Columbia. Persons with disabilities who may require special accommodations should contact Karen Davis at (803) 737-1549.
