UNION – The Union Daily Times’ Pigskin Pick ’Em panel looks a little different this week and your sports editor is finally at the top of the leader board. Granted, I share that lead with Kevin Shropshire, but it does feel good to be in first.
After missing 50 percent of his predictions, Steven Addis slipped into second and wasted no time in voicing his displeasure at being replaced. He suggested that I come up with some easy games this week to help him earn his spot back.
The spot that Kevin and I are filling? Nah, I think we’ll keep it interesting.
With three weeks to go everybody’s got to bring their “A” game.
Sam Phipps finished the weekend with the same 12-4 record that Kevin and I turned in but remains tied with Doc Lipsey in last place. Both prognosticators have seen their fair share of time at the head of our pack and neither is panicking just yet.
A lot can happen in three weeks. On this panel, it’s more than possible – it’s probable that things will get turned upside down a couple more times before it’s all said and done.
Check back next week to see who’s looking good for The Times Pigskin Pick ’Em Player of the Year. In less than a month a champion will be crowned.
