My special person of the week is Will Farr, he is in first grade at JEMS, making good grades and doing all of his homework. He is the son of Tee and Stacey Farr and has wonderful grandparents. I hear he is enjoying riding his new dirt bike that Santa brought him. Will is a fine young man and we all love him dearly.

Sis went to buy a new car that she saw advertised for a certain price. After telling the salesman which car she wanted, they sat down to do the paperwork. The salesman handed Sis the bill, and she declared, “This isn’t the price I saw!”

The salesman went on to tell Sis how she was getting extras such as power brakes, power windows, special tires, etc. and that was what took the price up. Sis needed the car badly; she paid the price and went home.

A few months later, the salesman called up Sis and said, “My son is in 4-H and he needs a cow for a project. Do you have any for sale?” Sis said, “Yes, we have a few cows, and we would sell for $500 apiece. Come look at them and take your pick.”

The salesman said he and his son would be right out. After spending a few hours in the field checking out all our cows, the two decided on one and the salesman proceeded to write out a check for $500.

Sis said, “Now, wait a minute, that’s not the final price of the cow. You’re getting extras with it and you have to pay for that too.”

“What extras?” asked the salesman.

Below is the list Sis gave the salesman for the final price of the cow.

• Basic Cow — $500

• Two tone exterior — $45

• Extra stomach — $75

• Product storing equipment — $60

• Straw compartment — $120

• 4 Spigots @ $10 each — $40

• Leather upholstery — $125

• Dual horns — $45

• Automatic fly swatter — $38

• Fertilizer attachment — $185

Grand Total — $1,233

Good Friends Always Help Each Other

Friendship fills your life with fun and laughter. Life can be complicated; it is something you feel almost every day. There are often times when you cannot decide what you should do. It is at times like these that you feel the need of having friends, a wonderful family as well as a good church family and a preacher. Good friends always help each other with their problems. I tell you I have some wonderful friends and the best neighbors a man could ever ask for.

Sis and I never had any children of our own but our friends and family did, we helped raise many of them and would not have missed it for the world. This story about friendship lets you understand this truth in a fun way.

A Funny Friendship Story

A long time ago, there was a group of goats who were friends with each other. They lived high up on the hills and were satisfied with whatever food that they could get. They shared their foods and lived happily in the company of each other.

One day, as they looked up from above they saw some farm goats grazing below in the fields below. They came down to meet the farm goats and be friends with them.

When the farmer who owned the farm goats saw this, he was very pleased. He invited the wild goats warmly to his home.

“Come to my home,” he said to the wild goats, “I have prepared a really nice meal for you all.”

The friends talked with each other. They discussed about the farmer’s invitation among themselves. They decided that they should go to the farmer’s home, even if it was only for once.

That night the farmer entertained the wild goats to a grand feast. The goats were very happy. But as they were enjoying their meal, they found that the farmer had only given scraps to his own goats.

“Now we know why the farmer has treated us to this feast,” they said to each other. “He is hoping that we would join his herd and make it bigger.”

And that is what the farmer had really thought. When he finally proposed to the goats that they could join his herd, they declined it instantly.

“Why?” cried the farmer, “did I treat you badly? Did you not enjoy the meal? Did I insult you in any way?”

“No, you did not. We enjoyed your feast. But we saw what your own goats had,” the wild goats answered. “If we stay with you, we will soon starve like your own goats.” we think the grass is greener high up on the hill.

The moral of the story is if you are alone, you can be deceived easily. But when you are with friends, you can talk with them and decide what you need to do. Everyone needs friends that you can discuss your problems and actions with. So enjoy your friends and treat them good. I have always tried to live my life in this way.

I’m sure you have heard that a dog is a man’s best friend, so remember to feed your animals and make sure they have a warm place to sleep, it is getting cold outside.

Friends knock on your door. Best friends walk into you house and start eating.

I have been blessed with a lot of best friends!

“A friend is one that knows you as you are, understands where you have been, accepts what you have become, and still, gently allows you to grow.”
