PHENIX CITY, AL — Josephine Weatherford Gault, 75, Phenix City, AL, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at the Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. EST, on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Epworth United Methodist Church with Rev. Grant Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Garden and the family will receive friends one hour prior the service at the church.
Josephine was born on Dec. 11, 1936, in Rock Hill, S.C., the daughter of John Russell Weatherford and Mazie Covington Weatherford. She was a graduate of Columbia College. Josephine loved teaching English and French for over 18 years at Heritage High in Conyers, GA. She was a member of Epworth UMC. She was also a member of the Ruth Girls and the Ruth Matthew Sunday School Class where she taught for many years. Josephine cherished teaching the Wednesday Morning Bible Study and her special sisters in Christ. Her passion was sharing God’s word and her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 35 years, James Montgomery Gault Sr.; and her sister, Jerry W. Elliott.
She is survived by a son, James M. Gault Jr., of Bristow, VA with Kathleen of Loganville, GA; daughters, Mary Josephine Gault Keel, husband Al of Conyers, GA and Elizabeth Anne Robinson, husband Dan of Smiths Station, AL; sisters, Jonnie Smith of Charlotte, N.C., and Jackie Flippin, husband Ken of Holden Beach, N.C.; brother, Russ Weatherford and Eric Rudy of New York City, N.Y.; grandchildren, Allyse, Matthew, Steven, Celia, Jacob, and Brian; much extended family members, church family and many caring friends.
