GREER — Union Post 22 fell, 10-0, to Greer on Monday. The game was called after the seventh inning on the mercy rule.

Post 115 (3-0) scored four runs in the first inning off home runs and never looked back. Daniel Palka and Taylor Johnson hit back-to-back home runs.

“We had no offense whatsoever tonight,” said Union coach Jay Ford.

Michael Cobb pitched five innings for Union, settling down after a rough start. Darius Gilliam and Derrick Gillespie finished the game.

Cole Robison was the winning pitcher, giving up four hits and recording five strikeouts. Zack Smith finished the seventh.

Desmond Harp had a double. Cobb and Jake Walton had singles. Gillespie reached base twice with a hit and a walk.

Post 22 (0-4) travels to Spartanburg tonight. Game time is 7 p.m.

“I’m hoping our offense will pick up a little better and we’ll play a little better ball,” said Ford. “We just got outplayed tonight.”

Gaffney travels to Greer in the other region game.
