Deployment is something every soldier has to go through. Leaving their families, friends, jobs, homes and everything they have to go and fight for our country and our freedom. The soldiers are not the only ones affected by deployment. Think about the families and the communities.
When soldiers are being deployed, imagine what the family has to go through. If you were a spouse having to take care of your children all by yourself, how would you tell your child where his or her mother or father is and why they are not there for holidays or birthdays? Think about all the things a person can’t do by himself like yard work or simple things around the house they don’t know how to do. How would you feel if you were a mother or father worrying about your daughter or son, lying awake at night in bed not knowing whether or not he/she is safe?
When a soldier is deployed, it affects the community also. If the soldier has a job, the person over that soldier can’t replace him. They have to hold the soldier’s job and find subs to work until he gets back. Also, I would assume a soldier would do a lot of community work and help out people. When they get deployed, there may be no one to do these things. Therefore the community is affected too.
I am very thankful for all the soldiers that are or were fighting. I know it was hard for everyone when they got deployed and weren’t there. Families and communities are strongly affected by deployment in each and every way, but if you have hope and faith, you can make it through.
