Photo courtesy of Foster Park Elementary School Hats off for Babies Students at Buffalo Elementary have been giving back to their community by collecting money for the March of Dimes. Students had a "hats off for babies" day. Students that gave $1 to the March of Dimes were allowed to wear their favorite hat to school all day. Other fundraisers included "purses for preemies", candy sales, and a "family fun night" basket raffle. The March of Dimes community project is sponsored by the first and second grade teachers at Buffalo Elementary School. Special thanks goes to Mrs. Heather Barnado, Mrs. Nicole Mincey, Ms. Gale Glenn, Mrs. Gloria Farr, and Mrs. Joyce Burgess for their help with this project. A VETERANS ADVOCATE is in Union every third Friday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the SCWorks Union office, 103 W. Main St., Union, to discuss eligibility for health care, pension, disability and more.

THE NEW EMANUEL BAPTIST CHURCH has opened a free clothes closet in the back of the Municipal Building in Jonesville. Hours of operation will be Tuesday and Friday 9:30 a.m.-noon.

UNION COUNTY ACTION NETWORK ORGANIZATION (WATCHDOG GROUP) meets weekly on Tuesday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at 103 Main St., Union. The public is invited.
