The politicians play politics

Playing politics is not the same thing as lying. Lying constitutes suppressing the truth either overtly or covertly. Playing politics has nothing to do with truth. Playing politics is all about power and control.

We continue to elect career, establishment politicians and wonder why things continue to get worse in DC and state capitals. Politicians play politics. We expect them to play politics. That’s how the political process works until it doesn’t. The political process goes into gridlock when some office holders refuse to play politics, and the mainstream media report the names, ranks, serial numbers and faces of those who refuse to play politics. That’s how politics is played in the media.

Poor Hillary. She was forced to testify before the House Select Committee on Benghazi for eleven hours last week. They were all playing politics because that’s what they do in Congress.

As Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) emoted with Clinton about the pain she had suffered since the ill-fated night of September 11, 2012, Hillary looked rather hang dogged. Responding to his empathy, particularly regarding all the conspiratorial accusations she has had to bear, she said, “It’s a very personally painful accusation. It has been rejected and disproven by nonpartisan, dispassionate investigators, but nevertheless, having it continued to be bandied around is deeply distressing to me.” She continued, “You know, I would imagine that I’ve thought far more about what happened than all of you put together. I’ve lost more sleep than all of you put together.”

Poor, poor Hillary. She’s suffered so. Surely she has suffered insufferably more than anyone else, having lost more sleep than all of her accusers combined.

She said this as mothers, fathers, and family members of Chris Stevens, Tyrone Woods, Sean Smith, and Glen Doherty scrutinized her performance. Poor Hillary. Hasn’t she suffered enough? I mean, if anyone knows how to play politics, she does. She’s Queen of playing politics. She’s political royalty accountable to no one because she’s paid her dues and is next in line for the throne. Bless her burdened little heart.

Hillary wasn’t lying when she blamed Benghazi on a YouTube video. She was playing politics. After she told Sean Smith’s mother they would get whoever made that video, the man was arrested and sent to prison! Hillary kept her promise! How could anyone possibly have anything but appreciation for the way she plays politics?

It’s not easy to go home and sleep knowing Islamic terrorists are attacking Americans, but Hillary and President Obama managed to do that. Nothing they could do from Washington anyway, was there? Those “in charge” were doing everything they could “over there.” Might as well get ready for the next day of campaigning and fund raising. That’s how politics are played and everybody knows that.

Nobody lied. CNN’s Candy Crowley straightened that out in Obama’s third debate with Mitt Romney. She said Obama had said Benghazi was a terrorist attack at the first press conference. She had her notes with her and corrected Romney who claimed Obama, Hillary, Susan Rice, and everybody else in the administration faulted a video for the attack. To their credit they had all said it was an “attack.”

Playing politics has nothing to do with Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods, Glen Doherty, or their families and friends.
