We had our first meeting for the Lockhart Christmas Parade. Everyone seems to enjoy the parade, but nobody wants to come and help us plan it. We had Barry Canupp, Brenda Cameron, Brenda Jenkins, Ailene Ashe, and myself. Our next meeting will be Monday, Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. at the Town Hall.

Parade Floats

I hope you will get started planning a float for the parade. You might win a plaque for bragging rights for your creativity. If you are a vendor you are welcome to come. We are inviting all churches, clubs, and businesses and families to be in our parade.

Parade Date

The parade will be the first Sunday in December, which is the 6th, at 3 p.m. This will be very good advertising for your business.

Fundraiser

Lockhart Freewill Church is having a fundraiser dinner on Nov. 1. They will be serving chicken strips, fries, slaw, dessert and tea. The tickets are $6 and you can buy tickets from Tess and Lonnie Wilbanks. If you see anyone from the church I will bet they can hook you up with a ticket.

Selling Knives

The Lockhart Freewill Church WSC Auxillery are selling Radar Steel paring knives for $5. They also have a catalog for any other type of cooking knife you might be interested in. They are also selling flavoring for $3 and boxes of cards for $6. You can see Mert Young for these.

Preaching

Sammy Baines will be preaching the service Sunday at the Lockhart Freewill Church.

Remember In Prayer

Pray for Robert (Greasy) Lawson and his family.

Happy Anniversary, Happy Birthday

On Oct. 18 Katie and Jonathan Adams will have an anniversary. Barry Canupp is having a birthday Oct. 19. Well happy, happy!!

Hi

Beula Inman called me and wants to tell her friend, Jeremy hi.

Smoking

Q. Does the Bible say that if you smoke you can’t get into heaven?

A. No, but the more you smoke, the faster you’ll get there.

The Good Part

Misers are no fun to live with, but they make great ancestors.

Exercise

” My eighty-five year old grandfather gets up early every morning to jog two miles.”

“That’s amazing! What does he do in the afternoon?”

“The last mile”

Well, I am going to say good night, and call me at 864-545-6652.
