Hello everyone, local news from The Whitty on the way after we catch up with our birthday wishes. Gottrocks The Birthday Fairy texted in last week’s this week’s wishes, lets let him do his thing.

Birthdays

Happy Birthday wishes to Marty McMurtury, Christianna Gilliam, David Strickland, Tina Steen, Jackie Goins, Gail Vanlue, Jessie Crumpton, Kem King, Carol Owens, Joe Brown Jr., Ronald Bolin, Bertrice T. Robinson, Kyle Arrowood, Grady Overstreet, and Roger Finney.

Sports

How about football in the heat? I say it every year, “just don’t feel right” wearing shorts to a football game. It seems it gets hotter every year in August and September.

Nice to have the Football Jamboree in Whitmire, hopefully this will happen again, and new folks will visit the Whitty and see all she has to offer, like our new grass volleyball court just across the road-from Legends Stadium on Golf Alley.

Speaking of Golf Alley, a nine hole golf course with reasonable green fees and membership packages. Specials for youth. The Whitmire Golf Association maintains the course and the carts. The association has a Facebook page with their contact information.

Upcoming Events
