UNION — Mrs. Evelyn Fay Foster Mabry, 91, widow of Erby G. Mabry Jr., passed away Dec. 15, 2013 at Windsor House in Spartanburg.
Mrs. Mabry was born in Union, Dec. 15, 1922, a daughter of the late Luther E. Foster and Beulah S. Foster. She retired from Milliken Co., Monarch Plant and was a member of Salem Baptist Church since 1952.
Mrs. Mabry was the last surviving member of her immediately family.
Surviving are a son, Bill Mabry of Union; two granddaughters, Cathy Freeman and husband Rev. Josh Freeman of Union and Karen Mabry of Las Cruces, NM; two great-granddaughters, Abbey and Aryn Freeman and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Mabry was predeceased by a sister, Irene Foster; and a brother, Lee Foster.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Wayne Cooke and Rev. Jerry Ford. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel prior to the services.
Active pallbearers will be Evans Crocker, Jimmy Crocker, Ellis Jenkins, Rev. Josh Freeman, Tim Palmer and Kenny Proctor. Mr. Malcolm Gregory and the staff and nurses of the Windsor House are asked to sit in a group.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. David Keith and to the staff and nurses of Windsor House for their care and concern of Mrs. Mabry.
