UNION — Mr. Claude Bernard Bobo, 84, husband of Sybil Turner Bobo, 110 Springdale Drive, Union, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice House.


Mr. Bobo was born in Union, S.C. on June 9, 1929 a son of the late Bernard and Bessie Sanders Bobo. He was retired from Torrington & Co. where he worked as a supervisor. Mr. Bobo was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in the Korean War. He was a dedicated and faithful member of Morningside Baptist Church where he served in many capacities. Mr. Bobo was a member of Woodmen of the World.


Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Diane Barber and husband David and Cynthia Taylor, all of Union; two granddaughters, Renee Seay of Spartanburg, Mandy Ivey and husband Jason of Buffalo; three grandsons, Bary Taylor and wife Christy of Jonesville, David Barber and wife Angie of Union and Shane Barber of Union; seven great-grandchildren, Dillon Barber, Tyler Barber, Brandon Seay, Michael Taylor, Bradley Taylor, Hunter Taylor, and Allison Ivey; two sisters, Sara Davis of Union and Matrel Moseley and husband Buddy of Union; three brothers, Sam Bobo and wife Hazel of Union, Jimmy Bobo and wife Judy of Spartanburg, Wayne Bobo and wife Gayle of Whitmire.


Mr. Bobo was predeceased by four brothers, L.J. Bobo, Ernest Bobo, Roy Bobo, and Ray Bobo.


Funeral Services will be held 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 at Morningside Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Aulbrey Calvert and Eddie Saxon. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.


Active Pallbearers will be Jason Ivey, David Barber Jr., Dale Bobo, Terry Bobo, Eugene Bobo, and Keith Davis.


The following are asked to form the honorary escort, Men at Morningside Baptist Church, Bobby Joe Gibbs, Toney Jett, Dillon Barber, Tyler Barber, Brandon Seay, and Michael Taylor.


Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening at the S.R Holcombe Funeral Home.


In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Morningside Baptist Church Building Fund 112 Bates Avenue, Union, S.C. 29379.
