JONESVILLE — Mr. William “Boodle” Lipsey, 80, husband of Bevia Patterson Lipsey, 308 Fairview Street, Jonesville, passed away Friday, July 18, 2014 at the Ellen Sagar Nursing Home.

Mr. Lipsey was born in Jonesville, SC June 7, 1934, a son of the late Willie Andrew Lipsey and Pauline Smith Lipsey. He retired from Mayfair Mills and was a former member of the South Carolina National Guard. Mr. Lipsey was a member of Jonesville Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 58 years are two daughters, Lisa Lipsey Garner and Tracie Lipsey Kirby, both of Jonesville; three sisters, Betty Proctor and husband Donald of Jonesville, Margie Robinette of Pacolet and Joann Barnes of Gaffney; a brother, Bobby Lipsey and wife Joyce of Jonesville; three grandchildren, Jennifer Wilkins, Matthew Duckett and wife Bridgett and Savannah Kirby; five great-grandchildren, Jake Duckett, RJ Wilkins, Alex Wilkins, Will Eaves and Ryleigh Ann Kirby; sister-in-law, Elaine Lawson and husband Bobby; brothers-in-law, Charles Patterson and wife Shirley and Ned Harrold; a sister-in-law, Hazel Patterson; and special friends, the Dale Inman family.

Mr. Lipsey was predeceased by a brother, Ty Lipsey.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2014 at the Lipsey Family Plot at Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Preacher Larry Holland. Mr. Lipsey’s nephews will serve as active pallbearers.

Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Saturday evening at the Holcombe’s Jonesville Chapel.

The family is at the home, 308 Fairview Street, Jonesville.
