Cynthia Kaye Lawson of Roebuck, S.C. and Thomas Christopher King of Spartanburg, S.C. were married Aug. 4, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church in Buffalo, S.C. The Rev. Melvin Shelton officiated the double ring ceremony which was followed by a reception in the Mount Lebanon Baptist Church Ministry Center.


Mrs. King, who was given in marriage by her father, Randy Lawson, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randy Lawson of Pauline, S.C. and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hickman of Inman, S.C. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Katherine Crocker of Pauline, S.C. and the late Mr. Garland Lawson and the late Mrs. Clarice Earley and the late Mr. George Lewis. The bride is a 1989 graduate of Paul M. Dorman High School and graduated from Spartanburg Community College in 1994 with an Associate in Science in Respiratory Therapy.


Mr. King is the son of Rev. and Mrs. Monty King of Spartanburg, S.C. King is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. M.M. King and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Holden. The groom is a 1989 graduate of Paul M. Dorman High School.


The bride wore a flattering Fit-And-Flare Ivory Organza with strapless bodice highlighted with subtle ruching and ruffled trim. The Empire waist featured beautiful beading detail. The Fit-And-Flare skirt was adorned with elegant embellished lace and had a chapel length train. The three layered veil was adorned with crystals. The bride also wore a tiara with pearls and Swarovkis crystals and rhinestones.


The bride’s bouquet was round and filled with pink roses, white daisies, white hydrangeas, red roses with a handmade handkerchief made by the bride’s mother attached to the handle with a gold brooch of pearls.


Matrons of Honor were Mrs. Tracy Lawson of Pauline, S.C. and Mrs. Beth Murphy of Moore, S.C, cousins of the bride.


Bridesmaids were Lanna Whitener of Columbia, S.C., friend of the bride; Selina Gregory of Jonesville, S.C., friend of the bride; and Stacie Vinson of Union, S.C., friend of the bride.


The Matrons and the Bridesmaids both wore satin strapless A-Line gowns, tea length champagne colored with a jeweled clasp. Their bouquets were round with pink roses and white daisies with a handmade handkerchief attached to the bouquet’s handle with a gold brooch of pearls.


Junior Bridesmaids were Ansley Lawson of Pauline, S.C. and Paige Lawson of Boiling Springs, S.C., cousins of the bride.


The Junior Bridesmaids wore satin strapless champagne colored gowns with pick-up skirts.


Honorary Bridesmaids were Janet Hardy of Jonesville, S.C., friend of the bride; Tameika Johnson of Spartanburg, S.C., friend of the bride; and Karen Keisler of Lexington, S.C., friend of the bride.


The Honorary Bridesmaids wore a rose corsage with a rhinestone brooch attached to it. Each brooch was unique, selected by the bride this way to symbolize the uniqueness and individuality of each Honorary Bridesmaid.


Flower Girls were Miss Fallon Lawson of Old Town, Maine, niece of the bride; Miss Kylee Lawson of Old Town, Maine, niece of the bride; Miss Reygan Lawson of Pauline, S.C., niece of the bride; and Miss Jenna Cate Murphy of Moore, S.C., cousin of the bride.


Ringbearers were Master Connor Hickman of Spartanburg, S.C., nephew of the bride; Master Cayden King of Moore, S.C., nephew of the groom; Master Curren King of Moore, S.C., nephew of the groom; and Master Jon Carter Murphy of Moore, S.C., cousin of the bride.


Children’s Attendant was Miss Susie Murphy of Greenville, S.C., friend of the bride.


Acolytes for the candlelight ceremony were Mr. Adam Lawson and Mrs. Andrew Lawson, both of Pauline, S.C. and cousins of the bride.


The groom’s father, Rev. Monty King, attended him as Best Man.


Groomsmen were Mr. Bryan King of Moore, S.C., brother of the groom; Mr. Heath Riddle of Spartanburg, S.C., friend of the groom; and Mr. Travis Taylor of Spartanburg, S.C., friend of the groom.


Registry Attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lawson of Boiling Springs, S.C, cousins of the bride.


Ushers were Mr. Chuck Horton of Spartanburg, S.C., friend of the bride; Mr. Clay Lawson of Spartanburg, S.C., brother of the bride; Mr. Corry Lawson of Old Town, Maine, brother of the bride; Mr. Derrick Lawson of Spartanburg, S.C., brother of the bride; Mr. Doyle Lawson of Pauline, S.C., cousin of the bride; and Mr. Jon Murphy of Moore, S.C., cousin of the bride.


Program Attendant was Mr. Tristan Lawson of Greenville, S.C., cousin of the bride.


Greeters were Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Abbott of Pacolet, S.C., cousins of the bride, and Mr. Max Emory of Spartanburg, S.C., friend of the bride.

Eddie and Becky Abbott hosted the wedding reception’s Candy Buffet.


A Slide Show Presentation was created by Mr. Chuck Horton and Mr. Derrick Lawson.


The Wedding Cake and the Groom’s Cake were created by Kirby’s Cake Shoppe.


A bridal luncheon at The Rose Cottage was hosted by Mrs. Katherine Crocker, Recie Hickman, Mrs. Linda Johnson, and Mrs. Kathy Lawson.


A bridal shower was given at the Mount Lebanon Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. It was hosted by Mr. Chuck Horton, Mrs. Linda Johnson, Mr. Derrick Lawson, Mrs. Kathy Lawson, Mrs. Tracy Lawson, and Mrs. Beth Murphy, and Ms. Linda Smathers.


A bridal shower was given by Mrs. Stacie Vinson and Mrs. Selina Gregory in the private dining room at Wallace Thomson Hospital and was hosted by the Respiratory Therapy Department. The Bridal Shower Photographer was Mr. Edward Bolds.


The couple honeymooned in Charleston, S.C. and now lives in Roebuck, S.C.
