The Union County Meals on Wheels Board recently held their annual meeting to recap the 2013 effort. During 2013 our 65-plus drivers ran 10 meal delivery routes and assisted two daycares as we delivered 24,613 meals. We receive no state or federal funding as we furnish these daily hot meals to needful persons.

We are very indebted to Wallace Thomson Hospital and Midway BBQ for our meals procurement and to the City of Union and Union County for their support. We have several generous large donors like Broad River Electric, Belk, and several churches and other organizations and individuals. We would like to thank the manager and staff of El Poblano restaurant for their recent fund raising effort and Sara Hopkins for her help with that project.

Most of all, we thank you donors, our most important volunteers. Without you the meals part would not be possible. Memorial and Honorarium donations are accepted.

Donations are always needed and may be mailed to Union Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 951, Union, SC 29379. Questions can be mailed there or directed to Chairperson Lynn Mornane (427-7974), to Vice-Chair Kathy Stepp or Treasurer Jim Stepp (427-1598).
