UNION COUNTY — In girls varsity basketball action, Union County defeated Spartanburg Christian Academy with a final score of 58-33 on Friday.


“I am very proud of the Lady Yellow Jackets on their win over Spartanburg Christian,” said Coach Angela Burke. “Each player contributed to the win in some form or fashion.”


The leading scorer for Union County was Mariana Eison, who delivered 21 points. Other top scorers were Chelise Morman with 13 points and Dexlie Inman with 10 points. Morman also led the team in rebounds with six offensive rebounds and four defensive rebounds. Inman led in assists with seven.


“There’s always room for improvement and we will be working very hard to make sure we are ready for our first region game against Chapman High School,” Burke said about this Friday’s upcoming game, which will also be at home. “With hard work and perseverance, I believe the girls will be ready.”
