UNION COUNTY — There is one more regular season game for Union County Recreation Department Stinger Football. Then, a single-elimination tournament will take place Nov. 4-6.

Recreation Department Athletic Director Sam Phipps said this season has been a good one.

“The kids improve every game,” Phipps said. “Each child seems to enjoy themselves as they learn about football. The coaches have done a great job.”

The Union County Recreation Department offers flag and Stinger football — as well as recreational cheer leading — each year, with sign-ups beginning in July.

“Getting the word out about sign-ups has posed a problem in the past since school is not in session, but we hope to improve this next year with the addition of our Facebook page, where we announce important information about our athletics, programs, and special events,” Phipps said.

For more information about this athletic program or upcoming athletics, call Sam Phipps at (864) 429-1670 or visit www.unionscrec.com.
