UNION COUNTY — After two straight away games, the Union County Yellow Jackets will host the undefeated Fairfield Central Griffins tonight at Union County Stadium.


Union County will look to add a W to its record at home tonight against Fairfield Central. This will be the 15th game in the Union County-Fairfield Central series. So far, each team has won seven of the 14 games played, with Union County picking up a 42-40 shootout win last season.


Fairfield Central — the No. 1 team in AA Region III — is coming off three straight wins, including a 50-26 win over Chester last week.


Fairfield Central players to watch include offensive standout Larry J. Bell, who had 68 yards rushing and three touchdowns last week; DB Byron Sampson, who was his team’s defensive player of the game last week; and QB DeAndre Belton, who passed for 127 yards and a touchdown last week.


Some of the Yellow Jackets to watch include Jordan Spencer who ran for two TDs last week against Greer; Cameron Queen, who delivered some big hits to Greer’s QB last week; and Shi Smith, who ran in a 55-yard touchdown pass from QB Matthew Barnett last week.


Tonight’s game starts at 7:30 p.m.
