LOCKHART — Students in the sixth grade STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) at Lockhart School work on preparing their “Reading Garden.”

The Reading Garden will provide both an outdoor class room for science lessons and an attractive space for reading.

The garden is made possible through a grant from Lowe’s, received by sixth grade teacher, Leslie Owens. Ms. Owens’ team teaches the STEM class with Mrs. Tracie Campbell.

The class is also partnering with Mrs. Shelley Vaughan’s first grade on parts of the project.
