UNION COUNTY — The Union County Health Care Foundation is sponsoring the Christmas Tour of Homes on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 4-7 p.m.
This year’s stops include The Gibson Home, The Martin Home, The J. Hay Fant House, The Dawkins House, and The Church of the Nativity. This week’s spotlight is…
Home of Howard & Stacy Gibson
126 Foster Farm Road, Union
This custom built home was built on the old Foster land just outside the city limits. A rock fireplace, the custom cabinetry and drapes, and the hickory wood flooring, run on a diagonal throughout the home, are a few items you will see. Walking out on the back porch you overlook a 6-acre pond. The home is nestled in trees and gives a sense of being in the mountains. Through the trees you can barely see the cabin that was built in the 1970’s by the Foster family. It has recently been totally remodeled and the porch extends over the water. Other items on the tour include an early 1900’s rolling fire truck as well as an old Esso fuel pump.
Directions: From Union, head up U.S. 176 toward Jonesville. Pass Hardees and the caution light at Toney Road. Take the next road to the left, Foster Farm Road. The home is the first house at the top of the hill.
Tickets to tour all the homes are $15 per person and are available at Wallace Thomson Hospital, WBCU Radio Station, Paradise Home Center, Midway BBQ, and Lockhart Café.
