UNION — Union County Schools Superintendent Dr. Kristi Woodall was rated satisfactory after her annual evaluation by the school board.
Each October, the Union County Board of School Trustees evaluates the superintendent’s performance. During Monday evening’s board meeting, trustees decided Dr. Woodall should receive a rating of satisfactory (choices were either satisfactory or unsatisfactory) with a vote of 7-1. Board member Buck Peay was in opposition; Manning Jeter was absent.
“She should receive a satisfactory rating,” said board member Jane Wilkes. “The rating is based on goals from the previous year, and she met all of them.”
The board also voted to give Woodall 15 days vacation, where she had previously had 10 days. Woodall’s contract was also extended to June 2017.
In other business, the board approved a personnel report, hiring Denise Eubanks as a science teacher at Union County High School and Kodey Sanders as an auto collision teacher at the UCHS CATE (Career and Technology) Center.
Two overnight field trips were also approved. The Jonesville Middle School Beta Club will travel to Myrtle Beach for the Junior Beta Club competition, and the UCHS girls golf team will compete in a golf tournament at Black Bear Golf Club in Longs.
