JONESVILLE — A fundraiser held by a local church for its youth raised $300.

Living Faith Ministries Church, 1511 Cross Keys Highway, Union, held the fundraiser Saturday morning in the parking lot next to the old People’s grocery store on Main Street in Jonesville.

Church member Yakeisha Shippy said the church held the fundraiser, which included a yard sale and fish fry, to raise money for its youth group and their ministry.

“We held it for the youth of the church,” Shippy said Monday. “The money we raised will be used provide them with uniforms for their praise and dance team.”

Shippy said the fundraiser was a success.

“It went great,” Shippy said. “We raised $300 for our youth.”

Shippy said there are 20 children in the church’s youth group. She said the praise and dance team will perform at the church’s Youth Anniversary in October. The group also performs at other churches when invited.

Rev. Bernice Bryson is pastor of Living Faith Ministries Church.
