UNION COUNTY — Students in the Union County School District will take the high school exit exam the first week in April.
In a statement released Monday afternoon, the school district announced that students in Union County and throughout South Carolina will take the High School Assessment Program (HSAP) Exam April 1-18. Students in Union County will take the HSAP Exam, more commonly known as the high school exit exam, on the following dates:
• Tuesday, April 1 HSAP English/Language Arts Test (Session 1)
• Wednesday, April 2, HSAP English/Language Arts (Session 2)
• Thursday, April 3, HSAP, Mathematics Test
• Friday, April 4-Friday, April 18, make-up tests
Parents are encouraged to assist students to prepare for testing by making sure they get plenty of rest and have a nourishing breakfast.
All South Carolina public school students in the second spring after their initial enrollment in ninth grade must take the Exit Exam. Passing both the English/Language Arts section and the mathematics section of the exam is required for a student to receive a South Carolina High School Diploma.
